August 29, 2025, Sony Device Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. held the opening ceremony
of the Student Research Project (Senior Project) 2025 in collaboration with
engineering faculties from four institutions:
This year’s program builds on the success of the previous year while expanding collaboration with additional universities. The company provided funding support for a total of 7 student projects, amounting to THB 320,000.
At the ceremony, Sony Device Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., represented by Mr. Nobuyuki Iwashita, Managing Director, welcomed the participating professors and students and highlighted the significance of the collaboration between industry and academia. The Senior Project program reflects the company’s commitment to supporting education, developing future engineering talent, and providing students with opportunities to apply their knowledge and creativity to real challenges in the semiconductor manufacturing field.
The Senior Project program aims to develop students’ academic and professional capabilities. The research outcomes from these projects can be further applied to improve production efficiency and shorten work processes. At the same time, students gain hands-on experience by working with professionals in a real corporate environment, providing an important foundation to help prepare them before entering the workforce.
