I am Iwashita, and I have been appointed as the Managing Director of Sony Device Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (SDT) as of May 1, 2025.
Building on the foundation of SDT’s history, we will continue to work together as a team to ensure that we consistently deliver high-quality semiconductor products to our customers worldwide from Thailand.
I kindly ask for your continued support and guidance.
SDT began its operations in Thailand in 1988 as a key production site responsible for the back-end processes of the Imaging & Sensing Solutions (I&SS) business of Sony.
Thanks to your support, we are celebrating our 37th year this year.
Initially, our operations focused on the assembly and testing of LSI products. However, today, SDT has grown into a core semiconductor factory for Sony, producing the following products:
- Camera Image Sensors
- Automotive Image Sensors
- Display Devices
- Laser Diode for HDD, etc.
In 2024, we completed and began operations in our new fourth factory building.
Moving forward, we will continue to expand our production capacity in line with market trends, contributing to both increasing production capabilities and generating employment in the local community.

At the core of our technology lies semiconductor devices, including the CMOS image sensors often referred to as "electronic eyes."
SDT plays a crucial role in the manufacturing of these products.
